Daniel Haidar spoke for the first time about his departure from the film that portrays the life of Marília Mendonça. In an interview with the Coluna Play section of O Globo, published on Friday (July 24), the actor explained how he received the news. He was cast to play Henrique, of the duo Henrique & Juliano. Haidar stated that the change did not come from the film’s direction but from a decision made by Amazon’s international team.

According to the actor, the recasting happened because of an artistic guideline involving the character. He said it had nothing to do with the work done behind the scenes during filming. Despite being surprised by the outcome, Haidar said he understood the situation. He stressed that the most important thing is for the singer’s story to receive a proper tribute.

The film about Marília Mendonça has been a topic of discussion among fans and celebrities. The production aims to tell the story of the singer, who died in a plane crash in 2021. Mendonça was one of Brazil’s most popular country music artists. She won several awards and had millions of fans. Her music often focused on heartbreak and strong female characters.

Haidar’s departure is not the only casting change that has been reported. Earlier, it was announced that actor Daniel Rocha would play the role of Marília’s former fiancé. The former fiancé himself commented on the film and the choice of Rocha for the part. These casting decisions have drawn attention as the production moves forward.
